laser tag

Yesterday I went to a laser tag place with an orginization called Young Life. http://sites.younglife.org/sites/SyracuseWest   We went to a place in Camillus. Young Life is an orginization to help teens and middle-schoolers to learn more about Christ. The laser tag was VERY fun, though. The highest I got in placings was 9th place. I wish I could do it again!

Water balloons don't make good pets or belong at church or in the car

Macy had a water balloon in the car, and it.... popped! She got all wet. My bottom got wet, along with the back seat and my coat.

The Museum Part

When we were done with the astronaut talk, we walked around the museum. The first thing we saw was a green Chevrolet truck. The bed was filled with purple, blue, yellow, orange, pink, white, red, and frosted white. There also was transparent purple, blue, yellow, orange, pink white, and red flowers. In one part, there was a glass periodic table and a 6ft diameter copper wire. The copper wire takes as much power as a single optic wire thread to transmit info.

The speed of light goes fastest through air, slower through water, and slowest through glass. Macy lost her bag in the giant black egg, and they had to take out a floor panel to get it.

We went to a glass show where they blow glass. It was really cool. There was a bowl, and the lady put it in the heating oven and spinned it faster, and it turned into a platter thingy. The glass-blowing furnace had been running non-stop since September 2008! The guy said the microphone gave him an Australian accent, but I think he was pretending.

We saw a giant bowl of fruit that had a pear, apple, orange, lemon, and a peach. There was a fish lamp and a squid lamp, and a thing that looked like coral. There also were tiny glass houses with glass knives raining down on them.(Which I don't understand) There were giant flower petals, a glass ball that looked like it was made of yarn, and a mish-mash of dishes and vases(In one sculpture). Also there was a giant swirled plate, a glass TIRE, a bead as big as Grace's fist, and a pretty turquoise vase.

A blowing glass factory scene was there, too. There was a giant glass tube that I could fit into, a giant crystal vase,(I know, this sounds boring, but it was really cool!) and a giant blue, white, and red candy cane.

The next thing we saw was a coral reef in a ball,Tiffany stained glass, a bajillion  paperweights, a bunch of glass chairs, a Jewish and Roman Catholic chess board, where the chess pieces were made to look like Bishops and Rabbis. A bajillion vases, an 'Ionic structure of glass',(does anyone know what 'Ionic' means?) a glass bear, a glass marble toy thingy, and a huge green fern statue.

We did sand blasting. You put stickers on a bowl, cup, mug, jar, or plate. I did a bowl and put 'Haley' on the bottom of it.Then you spray it with sand in a special machine. After that, we looked very briefly at the Frederick Curat (I think) gallery. There were blue, gold, white, green, pink, purple, red, orange, and frosted glass. The room was almost as big as a baseball field! So that was our fun day!                                                                      -Haley

John 13:34
A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must
love one another.

Space Talk at Corning Museum of Glass

At the Corning Museum of Glass, we listened to an astronaut named Cady Coleman. On her 1st flight into space, she orbited the earth 200 times. She plays the flute. She says, "To be an astronaut, you must be something else first."

When she went to the ISS,(International Space Station) the Russian on her crew didn't smile in his official picture, because that's what Russians do, I guess.(He was happy, though :) They don't take showers and they can be on the ISS for months at a time! They go #1 in a funnel, and it gets recycled and they drink it!!!!! Yuk!!!

When something outside breaks, they have to go outside and fix it. They also have to do plenty of health tests, because they aren't walking, they are floating! One guy played baseball ... by himself!!! He threw the ball, floated under it, batted it with a flashlight, and floated after the ball, and caught it in a front-flip!(I think that would be awesome!)

They eat things like beef stew, chicken, beef, and (my favorite) mac-n-cheese. Their sleeping bags are hooked to the wall, and they sleep (in the sleeping bag, of course) standing up! (I wouldn't like that one bit)
Cady played a flute duet in space with someone on earth. They go around the earth 16 times a day, with 45 minutes of day, and 45 minutes of night per go-around. That would be 16 bedtimes a day! (of course they don't have that many bedtimes) They land in a capsule with a parachute, and people meet them at their landing place in Russia. That was the space talk! Oh, yeah. There were gummy bears floating in the air, and someone grabbed them with their mouth and ate them.  -Haley

Stories from my own mind

Be Anything

If you travel to Wyoming, you will find the horse farms there astonishingly beautiful. They are dusty, grassy, and very large and enjoyable. On one of these farms there was a Pinto horse named Fearless, and a Quarter horse named Spots. There also was a Draft horse named Pete, a Shetland Pony named Cookie, and their owner, Eva. Eva was a barrel racer. Astonishingly, they were able to understand each other, even though they didn't speak each other's language.

Fearless wanted to be a bucking bronco, but he didn't know how!
"Oh, how will I ever be in the rodeo?" he worries.
"You are only good for giving children pony rides." Cookie criticized.
"Spots will teach you how!" Pete exclaimed excitedly.
"Yay! Now I will learn to be a bucking bronco!" yelled Fearless. He practiced numerous times a day, which helped him improve. Sneakily, Eva watched him the whole time.
"Wow! What a great bronco!" she thought.

They waited endlessly to see if Fearless was chosen for the rodeo. Finally, Eva ran up to them and gasped, "I have astonishing news! Fearless was chosen to be in the rodeo!"
"Yippee!" they all shouted. (except for Cookie, who criticized, as you can imagine)
Fearless went on to be a great bronco, and won many prizes. He learned that you can be anything if you work hard to be what you want to be.

School

This blog is for school, but it is NOT graded (thank goodness :) I am not much of a writer. I can't ever think of anything to write. Even so, I CAN write. I am in the process of writing a story. I can think of things to write, because it is not a school assignment.

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse
us from all unrighteousness.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
